flowers 101: week 2

this weeks floral project was based around a basket. not quite my style, but again you do what the teacher asks of you :) and hey, i am sure there are some of you out there that like floral baskets...i am just not sure who you are....

at any rate, it was fun and i like the experience of making traditional floral arrangements. it's good for me. it's good for you. tradition is not always a bad thing you know...

one great thing about this weeks floral arrangement is that the daisies were much fresher and bigger than last time, so it made the arrangement feel more lush (however lush daisies can be...). plus we got to use alstroemeria, which is one of my favorite "cheap" flowers. not only are they great fillers, they are also great on their own and they don't look like a bunch of cheap daisies or carnations.

happy weekend! don't forget to enjoy all those beautiful blossoms outside, they will be gone before you know it. (that is if you live in california. sorry to those still getting snowed in, unable to see spring coming forth in all its glory).
